With each wedding we book, I spend months and sometimes even years getting to know my couples and learning their stories so that I can better photograph their big days and have that raw joy accurately depicted. And with all the incredible brides and grooms we’ve worked with over the years, my relationships with my proposal couples are on just as much of a deep level but on an entirely different one! When people ask me what my favorite thing to shoot is, it’s always proposals; they’re so inherently different from weddings and provide so much new inspiration and backstory! And because I live and work so close to the city, most of our proposal couples are tourists who are getting engaged while on vacation here in our beautiful city. And when I say tourists, I mean that we’ve been able to meet couples from EVERYWHERE! (Germany, Sweden and Australia just to name a few!) So when a guy or lady first books me to shoot his or her proposal, I always ask them where they’re from! This time I got to welcome Aaron and his now fiance, Nicole from Houston! Aaron chose to propose to Nicole while on their first trip to NYC and he flawlessly proposed (literally followed our proposal game plan to a TEE!) on one of the most famous landmarks in the city…the Great Lawn! Oh, this proposal was so sweet and effortless. My favorite part? Nicole’s reaction once Aaron places that ring on her hand! LOVE! Congratulations, Aaron and Nicole!
